The music of New York City is a diverse and important field in the world of music. It has long been a thriving home for popular genres such as jazz, rock, and the blues, as well as classical and art music. It is the birthplace of hip-hop, freestyle, doo-wop, bebop, disco, punk rock, and new wave. It's also the birthplace of Salsa music, born from a fusion of Cuban and Puerto Rican influences that came together in New York's Latino neighborhoods in the 1960s.
This is the history of Track, Football, and Basketball in East St Louis.
During the time of famous track stars like Jackie Joyner Kersee , and Dawn Harper made them selfs known in East St .Louis because of dedication , and great skill. Also Jackie Joyner built an Youth Center across the street from Jones Park which has an Giant Cake with her name on it.
In this exhibit you will learned about the importance of the education in East Saint Louis and how it has changed over time. Also you will learn about how many different things about the Estl education. Such as the support that we get for education. Many people that doesn't live here think that the education we are getting is either not good or not enough. So here on this page you will learn about our education.
There are environmental issues all around the world. One place can be known as East St. Louis. Estl has pollution, wasted space, unhealthy chemicals in soil, littering, and much more. The environmnet isn't hurting it self, it is the people in the environment so you have to make a change for your community to stop hrt the world around you.
What you will find (and love I hope) about this exhibit is a podcast of interviews collected about Jazz music in East St. Louis. We worked hard to construct an exhibit that would display our understandings of Jazz music and its influence in the region. We hope that you will find interviews that we have made over the summer enjoyable. We have also made a blog (from two school years ago) that places a focus on our separate topics.
